Drama Festival Holds First Rehearsal

The 2012 Drama Festival members have their first rehearsal, in order to prepare for their performances in March. This year, the cast is doing a collection of 5 David Ives plays.

GALLERY: Holiday assembly a hit

The annual holiday assembly was held the friday before winter break in the gym. Both the middle school and the high school attended. Students had fun activities and games such as “wrap the student” and the teachers did their traditional “ugly sweater contest”.  The chorus and band performed musical numbers of diverse holiday traditions.

Spirit Week – Wednesday Music Gallery

Wednesday of Spirit Week had students dressing up as different styles of music. Seniors dressed as rock, juniors as country, sophomores as hip hop, and freshman as reggae.

Inside the Booth with Charlie Hoff

When Manchester Essex Regional High School was built in 2009, students and faculty were presented with a beautiful auditorium. For this theatre, a select few were chosen to learn how to work the light and sound systems. Sophomore Manchester Essex student, Charlie Hoff was taught to run technical support in the auditorium and is currently head Technical Director for every school production.

Manchester Essex Welcomes Incoming Middle School Parents

On Thursday September 15, Manchester Essex held their annual middle school open house. The event introduces parents of the incoming students to new teachers and staff. Each individual set of parents circulated through their child’s core classes in shortened 20 minute intervals.

Students wear blue to combat bullying

On October 3, Manchester Essex Middle High School kicked off bullying prevention month with Blue Shirt Day. The objective of this event was to show enough support for anti-bullying in hopes to stomp it out. Every student at Manchester Essex was asked to wear a blue shirt to help this cause. Sponsored by The Diversity Alliance, a school club devoted to acting on social acceptance and tolerance, it was supposed to make the day bullying prevention around the globe. Physical education teacher M’Lena Gandolfi, leader of the Diversity Alliance, was pleased to see the support from the Manchester Essex student body.
