Eighth graders present for International Week

Eighth graders Niki Bothwick and Bella Mastendino were among the many volunteers and students who shared their overseas experience with classmates. Bothwick gave a presentation on New Zealand and Mastendino spoke about India.


Students’ artwork displayed at Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards

Manchester Essex high and middle school students submitted original artwork to the Boston Globe Scholastic Art awards. On Sunday March 11th, 2012, each winner was invited to attend the art exhibit and ceremony to accept their gold key, silver key, or honorable mention.



Seniors join H20 For Life to help school in Haiti

Seniors from history teacher James Wallimann’s global issue classes aim to raise money for St. Pierre school in Mirebalais, Haiti. Information below provided to help this class earn their set goal of $6500 to help this school.

Mission Statement: The students of Manchester- Essex Regional High School’s Global Issues class aim to better the global community by providing clean drinking water to the impoverished school, St. Pierre, located in Mirebalais, Haiti by teaming up with H20 4 Life.

St. Pierre School, Mirebalais, Haiti:
-2,000 students stuffed into 20 classrooms
-No running water…

-Students spend half of yearly tuition buying drinking water

Freshman runner goes to regional meet

The Manchester Essex Track Team has been doing better than ever this 2011/2012 season. The season finally came to a close last Friday 2/212 as freshman Olivia Lantz competed in the New England’s meet.


Track Team Breaks Records

The Manchester Essex varsity track team traveled to Andover High School to compete last week. Both Varsity and JV teams have improved their records since last year. Over February break, qualifying team members will travel to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston to compete against the best runners in Division four.
