The annual holiday assembly was held the friday before winter break in the gym. Both the middle school and the high school attended. Students had fun activities and games such as “wrap the student” and the teachers did their traditional “ugly sweater contest”. The chorus and band performed musical numbers of diverse holiday traditions.
Norman Dandridge, a graduate and admissions representative of the Art Institute of Boston and Lesley University, speaks to art students about college level art study. The Art Institute of Boston also offers classes for high school students.
Robert Billsbury, head coach of the Boy’s Varsity Soccer team, and Collin Cook, the Boy’s Varsity Soccer Assistant Coach, helped a few members of the Boys Varsity Basketball Team tune themselves up during a preseason scrimmage. The Manchester Essex Boys Varsity Basketball team is looking to have another strong season, despite last year’s loss of center Joe Mussachia, who is currently playing for Amherst College, a Division 3 powerhouse.
Every week after the Ceramics-II class finishes a project, all of the students critique one another’s work. The class just finished a “unit piece”, meaning a sculpture made up of many individual units. Ceramics I teacher Tamera Burns adds her critiques and suggestions as well.
