Class of 2018 participates in freshman fly up day

On June 9th, teachers and students of the high school led a workshop which introduced the upcoming freshman to the high school. During this workshop, the class of 2018 learned both what to expect in high school and what will be expected of them.

HS girls lacrosse holds banquet

On June 11th, the junior varsity and varsity girls’ lacrosse teams met in the auditorium of the high school to celebrate their seasons at the annual banquet. At the banquet, awards were given to both junior varsity and varsity players.

NHS and NAHS induct new members

On Tuesday, May 27th, the National Honor Society and the National Art Honors Society held induction ceremonies for new members.  The two groups decided to have a combined induction ceremony for the first time in the school’s history.

Girls varsity lacrosse celebrates senior night

On Monday, May 19th, the girls varsity lacrosse team hosted Bishop Fenwick for the last regular season game. The team celebrated the four seniors in their last regular season game ever. The team beat Bishop Fenwick 18-9.

ASR student presents internship

On May 13th, Authentic Science Research student Peter Cottingham presented his project and internship on the invasive species Botrylloides violaceus, or more commonly known as the Orange Sheath Tunicate.  Cottingham talked about his experience while working with his internship, as well as the research he came up with.

Chem Students make ice cream

On Thursday, May 1st, students in Keith Gray’s chemistry class produced ice cream. The ice cream lab is completed every year in Gray’s chemistry class as a way to determine how freezing points change.

Chemisty students create metal alloys

On April 15th, students in Keith Gray’s chemistry class created alloys in a lab. The students used two metals, copper from pennies and zinc, to create the alloy of fake gold. This lab was conducted so that the students would learn about alloys and how to make them.

Students experiment with gas

On Tuesday, April 1st, sophomores and juniors in Keith Gray’s chemistry class participated in a lab, producing gas from magnesium and hydrochloric acid.  Students were to complete multiple trials and the lab was completed in one class.

Olympian presents her hockey success story

On Tuesday, March 25th Women’s Olympic Hockey Player Alex Carpenter spoke to high school students about her experience in the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics as well as her journey leading up to the games.  Carpenter presented a PowerPoint with photos of her hockey career.

Students try Yoga in Advisory

On Wednesday March 12th, high school students participated in a Yoga workshop for Workshop Wednesday.  The class was run by yoga trainer Suzanne Otterbein, who teaches in Manchester for all ages.  Along with participation in yoga, students learned how to live a healthy lifestyle and they got to try some freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices.
