North Andover defeats JV softball in close game

On May 20, the JV softball team traveled to North Andover to play one of their many make-up games. Due to the poor weather this season, the Hornets played a tough game but ended up losing the game 5-1.

Eighth Grade students work on D.C. scrapbooks

The eighth graders of Doris Ann Vosseler’s foreign language classes have been working on their scrapbooks from their Washington D.C. trip. Each year after the trip to D.C., eighth graders make scrapbooks in their foreign language classes. These scrapbooks are to tell what students did on the trip, using the imperfect and past tense in either Spanish or French.

Art teachers prepare for middle school art show

During the first week of May, middle and high school art teachers set up for the middle school art show. Middle schoolers’ art will be hung up around the first floor from May 7-May 18. On May 17, there will be the middle school spring concert. Before, during intermission, and after the concert, parents and others who attend the concert will be able to view the art show.

Seventh graders act out stories for drama unit

Seventh graders in teacher Abby Whittredge’s English class practiced and performed a number of different story books for the drama unit in their class. Students were graded on performance and the way interacted with each other.

Varsity girls lacrosse defeat Pentucket

On Monday April 23, the varsity girls’ lacrosse team played their first night game under the lights against Pentucket. Both teams played very hard, but in the end Manchester-Essex came out on top with a score of sixteen to eleven.

Girls varsity softball defeated by Georgetown

On Monday April 9, the girls’ varsity softball team travelled to Georgetown to try for another victory. While the girls played a tough game, Georgetown played an even harder game and came out on top in the end. The final score was fourteen to two.

Students learn about Guatemala during International Week

 

On Tuesday, March 13, the students of high school foreign language classes gathered in the auditorium to listen to presenter Thayer Lawson talk about her trip to Guatemala. Throughout the week, different speakers will present to the foreign language classes on a country that they visited.
