Eighth grade students in art teacher Marion Powers’ class have spent the last few blocks working on Picasso inspired portraits. The students first drew a representational frontal view self-portrait, as well as a profile, and then combined them to create an abstract portrait in the cubist style. They had the opportunity to bring their drawing to life using magazine clippings, blending markers, cray-pas, and colored pencils.
