PE class says farewell to beloved teacher

High school students take time to thank health and physical education teacher M’Lena Gandolfi for all her dedication in the physical education department. Gandolfi will retire at the end of this year after spending much of her adult life as a teacher at Manchester Essex.

Students honor fallen soldiers at Memorial Day assembly

On Friday May 25th, students and faculty gathered in the gymnasium to honor fallen veterans.  Guest speakers were present to help explain the importance of Memorial Day.

NAHS teams up with H20 to raise money

On March 14th, the National Art Honor Society came together to use their art skills to create cards. NAHS teamed up with H2O to create cards to sell to raise money for Haiti. NAHS members used the theme of water to create their cards because H20 is trying to raise enough money to provide Haiti with fresh water.

Yary Livan visits the high school ceramics class

Yary Livan is here visiting Manchester Essex for 2 weeks. He is from Lowell, but originally from Cambodia. He came to the U.S.in 2001 after surviving the Khymer Rouge, which was a violent political group in Cambodia. Livan’s life was spared because of his ceramic talent and how he knew how to create ceramic roof tiles for houses in Cambodia. Livan is funded by the Spalding Trust Grant.
