Middle school holds food drive

Environmental Science class travels to Conomo Point

Students in Mr. Banister-Marx’s Environmental Science class took a short field trip to Conomo Point to take measurements on water salinity and plant species. Phragmites australis, or the Common Reed, is an invasive species that can only survive in areas with certain levels of salinity.

Group of turkeys settles on school ground

A rafter (group) of wild turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo) takes up residence on the Manchester Essex Middle/ High School campus. The rafter consists of two hens and three juveniles.

Junior chemists measure density of water

In the second week of school, chemistry teacher Keith Gray instructed his students how to measure the density of water and metals.
