ASR student presents internship

On May 13th, Authentic Science Research student Peter Cottingham presented his project and internship on the invasive species Botrylloides violaceus, or more commonly known as the Orange Sheath Tunicate.  Cottingham talked about his experience while working with his internship, as well as the research he came up with.

Students try Yoga in Advisory

On Wednesday March 12th, high school students participated in a Yoga workshop for Workshop Wednesday.  The class was run by yoga trainer Suzanne Otterbein, who teaches in Manchester for all ages.  Along with participation in yoga, students learned how to live a healthy lifestyle and they got to try some freshly squeezed vegetable and fruit juices.

NHS continues its tutoring program

Members of the National Honors Society tutor after school every Monday and Thursday. The members tutor middle and high school students in order to receive the community service hours that are needed to participate in NHS.

JV Girls Basketball starts the season strong with a win against Lynnfield

On Friday December 13th, the JV
girls’ basketball team started their season with a home game at Manchester
Essex Regional High School against Lynnfield.
The Hornets played a strong game, coming out with a win on top by 20
points.

On October 11, former NCAA All-American runner Eddie Slowikowski presented a motivational speech to the high school students with stories, song, and dance.

Juniors practice writing College Resumes in Advisory Groups

On September 25th, Manchester-Essex Regional High School held advisory groups for all high school students.  Meeting with other students in their grade, the students worked on a specific topic during the 30 minute period.  The juniors created a sample college résumé that mirrored what theirs should look like when they apply to college.

Boys Varsity Soccer defeated by Rockport

On Friday, September 12th, the Manchester Essex Boys Varsity Soccer team played Rockport at their home turf, Hyland Field.  This being their second night game at home, many fans showed up to support the team.  In the end, the Hornets lost 1-2 in a tough battle.
