Drama Festival Hosts Tech Week

This past week, the Manchester Essex Drama Department has had seven different school come and do there tech hour for the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild’s Drama Festival. All of the schools came back to compete this past Saturday. A tech hour is when each different school comes to the prelims host site and spikes their stage and practices there lighting cues in the booth.  At the end of the day, Peabody Veterans High School, Beverly High School and Manchester Essex High School were chosen to move onto the semifinal round.

The Manchester Essex Drama Club used costumes that have either been passed down from previous shows or purchased. Since the characters in the show mirror animals, the cast had the task of incorporating the animals into their costumes.  They performed at 10:00 on Saturday.
