GALLERY: Graduation 2014 – Part 1

The class of 2014 graduated on Friday June 6th at Hyland Field. The ceremony started with bag pipers and drummers, leading the procession of faculty and graduates onto the field. A group of senior girls sang the national anthem.  Assistant Principal Paul Murphy, Principal Patricia Puglisi, and Superintendent Pamela Beaudoin all gave speeches to the class and audience.

Following the administrations speeches, class president Erik Rajunas spoke about his journey through high school and about his class. Then Madeline Dahlen spoke as the Salutatorian of the class. The last speech from the students of the class of 2014 was given by Valedictorian Lindsey Duff, who chose to write a letter to the world about her class.

The class speaker was English teacher Daniel Koughan, who spoke for the third time at graduation in the past five years. He gave the graduates pieces of advice gleaned from important works of literature. After the diplomas were awarded, the students flipped their tassels and were officially finished with school at MERSD.
