AP Environmental Science students perform dandelion lab

On Friday, September 27th, students
in science teacher Erica Everett’s AP environmental science class travelled
outside the school to a field in which they used the process of random sampling
to count the number of dandelions present.

Varsity football defeats Georgetown

On Friday September 27th, the Manchester Essex Varsity football kicked off the weekend of Fall Festivities with a game under the lights. Manchester-Essex won with a score of 28:12 against the Georgetown Royals.

Sixth grade health class constructs skeletons

Mr. Ricci-Munn’s sixth grade health class is learning about the human skeletal system, and did an activity about the location of each individual bone. This helped students have more of a visual understanding of the system, while interacting with one another and having fun.

SoundWaves rehearses for the season

The high school a capella group, The SoundWaves, gathers after school on Thursday to start practicing their first song together.
High school members must audition for a position in this talented group of singers.

Students Create New Book Covers for Popular Books

Students of art teacher Marion Powers painting class pick different books and paint the covers with their vision of the topic of the book. Powers said that the goal of this assignment was to express the student’s creativity on a book like they would do on a canvas.

Freshman Advisory scavenger hunt

During advisory block, the freshman class took part in a scavenger hunt throughout the whole school. They were given a sheet of paper with a list of items they would need to locate in order to learn more about the high school.

Juniors practice writing College Resumes in Advisory Groups

On September 25th, Manchester-Essex Regional High School held advisory groups for all high school students.  Meeting with other students in their grade, the students worked on a specific topic during the 30 minute period.  The juniors created a sample college résumé that mirrored what theirs should look like when they apply to college.

Gym classes combine to play Circus Ball

The sophomore, freshman, eighth and seventh grade gym classes combined together for a fun Friday. They usually combine every Friday and play an assortment of games together.
